Others steps

You can present your cookies into differents categories to explain what they do for you, and for your users.

The steps

On the set up screen, click on the "New" button to add a step to your widget

You will then have the choice between various screens. They can be sorted in two categories :

  • Informative screens such as the welcome screen or the information screen. Informative screens are here to inform users that you use statistics cookies or technical cookies without letting him the choice to accept them or not. Warning : To put a cookie in this category, it is necessary to verify that this cookie does not collect personal data or that it anonymise them.

A good example for an informative screen is the use of Google Analytics cookie, which becomes essential if we want to track our statistics. If we had created a consent screen, and one user would not consent of the use of Analytics, then his visit would not be counted and all our stats would be false. This is the reason why most declare this cookie only for informative purpose. Here is how to anonymise Google Analytics : https://blog.axeptio.eu/comment-anonymiser-les-ip-pour-rendre-compatible-google-analytics-avec-le-rgpd

  • Category templates. Categories of cookies and consents that needs to be accepted by the user. We can sort them in 4 big categories :

Audience analytics platforms, heat maps, clicks tracking, ... need for the most part the user consent. Only a few audience analytics platforms don't require consent (Xiti or Mamot for example). Google Analytics, used on most websites, need to be accepted by the user.

You can choose several screens that will appear one after the other. Usually, we start by an informative Welcome screen, then we click on "new" to pick a second informative statistics screen. We create the same way a third screen for experience and relation.
